Bug Description

If we want to deploy a guest we have an option to give a disk list. This works, but the disk are numbered from the root disk like 100, 101, 102,....
We have the next setup:
100 boot
200 root
300 swap
400 application binaries
500 application data

The above setup is not possible now because we can't give the edev number to the creation of a disk. So is it possible to add vdev to the make disk build list?

Hi,

what is the status of this issue?

The same problem is encountered by the API call: "7.4.3. Guest add disks". Here is also not a possibilities for using self numbered edevs.

Thanks
Herald

ok, this is because of some history reason.....

I would think it might take some time, will some change to ONLY 7.4.3 for add disk acceptable to you? e.g you can add disk vdev after first create? I think that might be easier but still need more time to see the side effect

For now it is acceptable. The create guest is more difficult I think. For us if create guest is done, also the deploy over more than 1 disk for an OS is necessary.
The customer can now live with the OS on 1 disk, but if the other disks can be added through CC then is that a big winner for us.

Thanks in advance
