Hitting Enter does not create new list item

When the cursor is at the end of a list item, hitting enter does not create a new list item.

Action performed:

In a bulleted list, type some text, then hit enter.

Observed behaviour:

The cursor moves to the next line, but is indented to align with the text of the previous line.

Expected behaviour:

A new bullet point is inserted at the next line, placing the cursor behind it.

In general, I somehow suspect that Enter adds a line break instead of a paragraph break. That would explain this and a series of other odd behaviours in the app.
