Bug Description

I don't like tabs anymore ... thank you.

But how about the possibility to change the keyboard shortcuts?
I'm having a really weird keyboard layout. That makes my F1-12 keys
only usable when I'm using a function key.

I'd like to change some shortcuts like the window-list-window. :)

That'd be cool. Thanks!

I've been a staunch opposer of this in the past. But I think the ability to remap keyboard shortcut is an accessibility enhancement. So I think it should be implemented.

This functionality would help me to add keys which I sorely miss in scribes (the worst is Alt+Backspace for "Delete the last word")

Matej,

File a bug report to have alt+backspace delete the last word. And by last word do you mean the word the cursor is on?

I think Matej meant Ctrl-Backspace, rather than Alt-Backspace. And now (as of build 757 anyway -- see Bug 592033), Ctrl-Backspace works as expected. :)

Hi. If shortcuts can't be redefined it's important to note this: on keyboards other than the US keyboard (ath least on the spanish one) the shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + , will not work because SHIFT + , produces ; and not <

Therefore, either these deviations are taken into account or some way of redefining shortcuts should be pushed forward, otherwise international users will not find shortcuts as intuitive or easy to remember.

What's ctrl+shift+, used for?

i think that abitility to define shortcuts would be useful feature. Personally i use alot of shortcuts defined in my windows manager and several of them conflict with the ones defined in Scribes. Also, i just dont feel comfortable enough with some of Scribes shortcuts (like those where u need to press ctrl+alt+shift) and it would be nice to have ability to re-define them.

Gnome (gnote) captures Alt-F12 and probably other shortcuts. Defining
shortcuts isn't an option for me. There should at least be a configuration file
where the default shortcuts can be overridden. Anyone know which source
file has the key bindings?

+1 for the conflicts with the windows manager. And as a french user, +1 again for international keyboard layout conflict.

It's not just a matter of preference. Even if I would remap some key based on personal taste, like the key to switch windows which is wayyyyy to far from my fingertips.
