Bug Description

The Curl command in the docs is pointing to the mitaka proxy-server.conf:
# curl -o /etc/swift/proxy-server.conf https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/swift/plain/etc/proxy-server.conf-sample?h=stable/mitaka

Should point to newton.

Hello,

It seems as changed incorrectly to Ocata instead of Newton:

# curl -o /etc/swift/proxy-server.conf https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/swift/plain/etc/proxy-server.conf-sample?h=stable/ocata

The last should be newton:
https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/swift/plain/etc/proxy-server.conf-sample?h=stable/newton

Damian, on which page? As the bug points out, the newton install-guide (at https://docs.openstack.org/project-install-guide/object-storage/newton/controller-install-rdo.html as well as some other pages) currently includes links to mitaka sample configs.

Similarly, the ocata install guide has links to newton sample configs (as on https://docs.openstack.org/project-install-guide/object-storage/ocata/controller-install-rdo.html).

The Pike guide changed URL conventions (see https://docs.openstack.org/swift/pike/install/controller-install-rdo.html), but it *also* references the wrong release; in this case ocata.

The general problem is that the correct links *don't exist* until a release is cut, which means that a correct install guide can't be published simultaneously with the release. This has been exacerbated by us having the docs in-tree (https://github.com/openstack/swift/commit/cf8b939).

Changed in swift:
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Low

Thank you for explanation.

This means that installing Newton is correct to get proxy-server.conf-sample from one step earlier release?

The same for Ocata and Pike?
