On a fresh install of U50 I hit an issue where sync got caught up and made anything using contacts break

So today I did a fresh install of U50 but had an issue with the contacts sync. This issue led to none of the contacts completing the sync, I'm assuming the contacts DB was in some strange state so then when the dialer/contacts/messaging apps tried accessing it, it locked up the apps in varying ways.

Dialer: Took about a minute to open displayed the dialer pad and locked up
Contacts: White page only never completely opened
Messaging: Took about 2 minutes to open was never completely right but kinda worked after that point.

Once I had rebooted the device I was able to trigger a manual sync with the button in the contacts app and everything was good again.
