Bug Description

It would be great to be able to add calendar invites/events to the calendar-app via content-hub for all text/calendar file type extensions. (.ics, .ical, .icalendar ...)

Additionally it would be nice to show some kind of indication in Dekko (maybe an icon in the message list?) that an invite has already been added to the calendar-app and the users attendance status of Yes, No, Maybe. Ideally the user should be able to determine if they have already addressed the invite without having to open calendar-app or try adding an already added invite/event. This will be especially helpful in Dekko's new header section filter for calendar invites.

This would be indeed a nice addition. Currently when I receive a event invitation send by outlook, the message looks empty when opening it. In the main view it shows the message has an attachment and when looking at the source you can see that it is an calendar item from based on the Content-Type: text/calendar; charset="utf-8"; method=REQUEST.

But if you can not guess this from the subject, it is hard to know what the content of the mail is. It would be great if there is at least an indication that this is an calendar item. Integration with the Calendar app would also be great.

I think a few things would need to happen on the content-hub and calendar side first
1) content-hub would need to add a new type ContentHub.Calendar (until proper mime-type support lands in content-hub). See https://developer.ubuntu.com/api/apps/qml/sdk-15.04.4/Ubuntu.Content.ContentType/
2) Calendar app would register as content-hub destination for this content-type
3) Calendar app needs implement a content-hub importer for text/calendar files that would be invoked by content-hub operation. For first cut imported calendar events would be saved to the default calendar as specified in calendar settings.

Changed in ubuntu-calendar-app:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium
Changed in content-hub (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
