Lockal (or anyone else), I don't read or write a Cyrillic language, so I'm not a good judge of whether this bug is fixed. I've attached the text from <http:// www.bbc. co.uk/russian/ science/ 2014/11/ 141112_ philae_ landed> and reformatted it in Ubuntu 10 bold, with the two problem characters highlighted. How does it look?
10pt seems to be just on the boundary where some hinted letter spaces are 1 pixel, while others are 2 pixels.
