Bug also still present with Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS and Gnome 3.12.6. Tried to reinstall gnome-session-bin and though it appeared to be reinstalled gnome-session-properties reports it does not exist.

gnome-session-properties is not deprecated (although it will come back in proper ubuntu packages for Vivid).

similar functionality is provided by gnome-tweak-tool now.

I'm being affected by this in Ubuntu Desktop 14.10 originally it was there.

I believe my issue had begun after installing tweak tools.
