I downloaded the install-script hplip-3.15.11.run from http://hplipopensource.com/ and started the installation on the shell with "sh hplip-3.15.11.run. The script starts and asked some questions. I answered everything with pressing the Enter-button ( = use default settings ). Then the script asks for my sudo password. After typing the sudo password, the script hangs. Nothing happens. I waited for hours ( left the script while I was shopping... ). Then I aborted with Ctrl + C.
I found a directory "hplip-3.15.11", which was created after calling the install-script and there inside a logfile, which contains the following (nothing helpfull):
