Bug Description
MATE weather applet stopped updating weather data few days ago as data source URL has changed.
METAR data source URL has changed from:
https:/
to:
https:/
To observe bug:
use journalctl -f in console and then right-click on mateweather-applet icon and hit refresh, you will see in log:
mateweather-app[]: Pobranie danych METAR się nie powiodło: 308 Permanent Redirect.
(sorry for polish language, but the most important is 308 data server response)
and of course there will be no update of actual weather conditions displayed in applet.
Bug is known for MATE desktop developers and they released a commit for this:
https:/
As this is only a text string change it should be easy applicable to older versions of libmateweather so only thing to do is to find this text string and change to new URL and release updated libmateweather.
I'm on 20.04 but problem is of course with all Ubuntu Mate versions using libmateweather older than the newest one (1.27.1) so it would be great to see this problem resolved for all of them (still supported Ubuntu releases).
