Bug Description

I'm the author of a VTE based terminal application called Terminix. I've been testing my application against the Ubuntu 16.10 beta and noticed a bug with Ambiance (and presumably Radiance but have not tested it yet). My application sets the window visual to an rgba visual in order to support transparency. I've noticed an issue in 16.10 that when using a CSD it draws an ugly border around the window and when using a transparent window becomes very noticable through the transparency.

You can see a screenshot of a transparent window with CSD showing these borders here:

In terminix I give the option to disable the transparency and use a normal titlebar, when I do so the ugly borders are no longer present.

This was not an issue in 16.04.
