Arthur Hrast Essenfelder, did this problem not occur in a release prior to Trusty?

I tested Ubuntu 13.10 and it does NOT have this bug.
Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 both have this bug, so it broke somewhere between 13.10 and 14.04

Markus Ilmola, thank you for your comment. So your hardware and problem may be tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into the default Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux

Dear Christopher M. Penalver (penalvch),

Sorry for not replying earlier.
I could check only now this bug.

I tested both Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10, and both worked the printscreen command by using the printscreen button.
However, on the version 13.10, the key combination fn+del also calls the printscreen command.
Using Ubuntu 14.04 only fn+del works.

Hope this can help somewhat.
Arthur.

Arthur Hrast Essenfelder, would you have a kernel you could boot from the release where it worked in to test to this?

Dear Christopher M. Penalver,
I don't have a saved kernel on my system, but I do have a bootable USB drive with Ubuntu 13.10.
Is this ok?

Arthur Hrast Essenfelder, unfortunately testing Saucy wouldn't test to if this is a kernel or userspace issue. Could you please test the mainline kernel v3.11.10.15-saucy in your current install following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds and advise to the results?

Dear Christopher M. Penalver,

The same thing happens when running the kernel v3.11.10.15-saucy.
I.e. I am only able to take a printscreen when using the key combination fn+del.

Below is the command to confirm I was running the kernel you asked.
$ uname -r
3.11.10-03111015-generic

Arthur Hrast Essenfelder, as per your Bug Description, when you originally filed this report, you were using the kernel from Saucy in Trusty:
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-14.21-generic 3.11.7

Is this intentional?

Arthur Hrast Essenfelder (arthur-essenfelder) wrote :

Christopher M. Penalve, no it wasn't intentional.
By the time I posted this issue, I was using Trusty Tahr updated from Saucy. Don't know if this influences somehow.
Now I am using Trusty after a fresh install, however the problem persists.

Arthur Hrast Essenfelder, as this would seem to not be a linux kernel issue (as you tested a prior kernel that was fairly close to the Ubuntu kernel and the problem was not reproducible), I'm placing into the Ubuntu general queue for reassignment.
