Bug Description

Hi.

I created a package to enable xfce4-terminal in sshmenu.
It's really small (around 6.5 K) and it depends on sshmenu-gnome.

The license is inherited from sshmenu-gnome (as 90% of the code is the is taken from it) and it's a BSD license.

Cheers
Massimiliano

1) Is it possible to provide a source package instead of a binary?

2) Have you approached the XFCE team with this idea? https://launchpad.net/xfce-project or irc: #xubuntu
Their support would get this packaged much faster.

Hi Ian.
It's ruby... there is no binary, and no files compiled.

let me know if you have further requests... it's also my first time I provide a package and I don't have that much experience.

The package consists of 4 ascii files:
/usr/lib/gnome-panel/sshmenu-xfce4-applet
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/xfce4-sshmenu.rb
/usr/lib/bonobo/servers/sshmenu-xfce-applet.server
/usr/share/man/man1/sshmenu-xfce4.1.gz

cheers
Massimiliano

sorry for writing so many times, but I forgot to say something: I don't think the package is intended for those who use XFCE Desktop, because it's a Gnome-applet running with Gnome.

The package is intended for those Gnome users who use the XFCE Terminal (as it has more funcionalities), instead of gnome-terminal.

Do you think I still need to be in touch with XFCE people?

thanks for your help.

cheers
Massimiliano

Contacting XFCE-Terminal people certainly couldn't hurt. They might be interested in facilitating the packaging.
Have you also considered creating a PPA on Launchpad? It will get your software out faster, and you can get feedback.
Question: Is this a one-time project for you, or do you intend to maintain this code? (If bugs or feature requests turn up, should the package maintainer contact you?)

-> yes, I can answer feature requests, and bugs ... IMHO there will be nothing to do ... I hope so :)
