Bug Description
Hi, I am an high school teacher and all my classes got a fujitsu siemens amilo xa 2528. They all want to run ubuntu but none them has fixed the following bugs so far....
I have tried Ubuntu (32 & 64bit), Knoppix, DSL, SystRescCD and more.(on a xa 2528) All of them have stopped right after the start menu choices... I get a message like:
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu4) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter "help" for a list of built-in dommands.
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turnd off
(initramfs) 38.108000 hda: drive not ready for command
38.108000 hda: drive not ready for command
38.108000 hda: drive not ready for command
38.108000 hda: drive not ready for command
The problem is that the dvd/cd-drive does not work. It works enough to boot from but stops working when the installation progresses. Using a network install and you can get passed that problem.
The things that won't work (currently) are dvd, webcam and wlan but it's still better than vista. and kernels newer than 2.6.24-21 don't work at all.

Hello,
i also have the Amilio xa2528, used installinux cd to install ubuntu 8.10 over internet, upgraded it to 9.04,
everything works except the dvd-rom and webcam (wlan using the win drive through ndiswrapper)
i found a config file that you should use on kernel 2.6.29.1 to make the dvd-drive working, but because i'm a noob on linux ;-) i have no clue how to do that i'll attach the config file, maybe someone else can use it and send me a compiled kernel or a easy to use guide for doing that myself
