should create abstractions/xdg-desktop to allow creating various diretories such as ~/.cache

Thanks for your report! I discussed this on IRC with other AppArmor upstream and this will be handled in another way. An xdg-desktop abstraction will be created and the gnome and kde abstractions will #include it.

This bug was fixed in the package apparmor - 2.7.0-0ubuntu1
