I have been using aptitude for over 10 years now. It's still the best package manager I know and I hate seeing it deteriorate in such a way.

That's why I have offered 100€ on Fossfactory for fixing this bug[1]. I know this is alone is not enough. But 333 people are "affected by this bug" (according to Launchpad). With a few of dollars from each one of us it should be possible.
