Bug Description

It seems when running the installer for servers on 20.04.1 and 20.04.2 there is now an integrity check that is mandatory.

I sometimes need to install a server over IPMI and when I do that I get hit by at least 30 minutes of integrity check for the installer. I believe this can be skipped in the Desktop installer after it has started but that option is missing for the server setup.

This needs to be remedied. There is a parameter you can add if you remember to do that in grub before starting. But I would like not to have to google that parameter each time I occasionally have to install in this manner and I believe I am not alone in this.

Can we please have an option to skip after the test starts. This is a pretty simple fix as it is already available in the desktop installer. I see there is a discussion about this in discord when it was added for the Desktop and there everyone wanted to have the option to stop it after it started.

Can confirm, have to press 'e' and add "fsck.mode=skip" to skip during setup as Ctrl+C is not honored, and no option is given to skip while using a Supermicro IPMI for console access/install from Virtual Media.

Hi folks, please follow the other LP (older): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1892369

There is a fix over there, in fact there was a bug in casper - thanks for the reports, much appreciated.

I'll close this one as duplicate...

I cannot see how this is a duplicate.

In the https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1892369 people seem to be fixated on fixing only the boot parameter that can be added. That is an option that is very clunky imo when you are working over ipmi.

In this bug report we are talking about stopping the integrity test after it has started with ctrl+c. Not the same thing.

This is available in the desktop image and people are asking for it in the server image as well.
