Bug Description

compiz version 0.9.11.2

How to reproduce:
1. set up dual-monitor (i ordered them left/right)
2. take the upper right corner of a resizable window
3. drag the window to the top of the right monitor, so that
most the window still remain in left monitor
4. the maximize animation (orange rect) shows up on the right monitor
5. release mouse button
6. window is maximized on the left monitor

I attached two images which show this process.

There are of course two possibilities how to fix that: Either
you draw the animation on left screen or maximize the
window on right screen. I would say the latter is the more
intuitive.

Hello,

I have a very similar problem but with slight differences. My version of compiz is 0.9.12.2

I have a laptop with a gtx 965M nvidia graphic card installed using nvidia-358 drivers.

How to reproduce.
1. Plug in an additional monitor of the left
2. Change the corresponding settings in the "System Parameters"
3. Drag a window on the left (additional) display
4. Click the maximize button

Observed result
The window is maximized on the right (laptop) disaplay
Expected result
The window should be maximized on the left (additional) display

Notes:
Interestingly, the problem does not occur when the additional display is put on the left of the built-in display.
