I pressed alt+f in XChat expecting to see the File menu, instead the screen froze and after a while and some flickering I got a message saying compiz had crashed.

Incidentally now XChat only has one menu, File, which only has on item, Close. Dunno where all the others went, they were there before Compiz crashed.
