dconf-editor can't handle long value strings

Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS/Unity on i86
dconf-tools 0.12.0-0ubuntu1

I navigate to org.gnome.gedit.plugins.terminal. I modify the background and foreground values without any difficulty. I click on the value string in order to modify the palette value (a very long string). My screen begins flashing with what appear to be repeated attempts/failures to generate a window wide enough to display the entire value string. This continues until I get tired of watching it.

I quit dconf-editor via the Unity launcher, and use gsettings to examine the dconf-editor schema settings. Height is 479 (reasonable), maximized is false (correct), but width is 2155 (a bit much for a 1280-pixel display). Setting width to 800 (a purely arbitrary choice) clears up the problem. Repeating the process in the first paragraph nicely reproduces the problem, right down to the 2155 value.
