dbus does not interface with language support function

Bug Description

I went to System Settings / Language Support, and it told me that I needed to install some language aids.
Fine and dandy. I said "Yes."
And then it said that dbus wasn't doing it's job and the action couldn't be completed.

The error message was as follows.
Please note that the network connection was fine.

org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
