Actually, I think the result might be that Evolution blinks in the bottom panel, but since the bottom panel is auto-hidden, I didn't see this. Perhaps this behaviour is by design?

Changed in indicator-applet:
status: New → Invalid

I reopening this one... it's a design flaw or a bug. Not changing to the app makes the indicator applet kinda useless

No. It just sends the event to Evolution which decides what to do with
it. We have design guidelines on what to do, but that isn't enforced in
implementation.

evolution-indicator as per previous comment and this still exists in Lucid.

affects: indicator-applet (Ubuntu) → evolution-indicator (Ubuntu)
summary: - messaging indicator does now switch workspaces if evolution is not on
+ messaging indicator does not switch workspaces if evolution is not on
the visible workspace

I have the same problem with the following setup as well:

Ubuntu 13.10
evolution-indicator 0.2.20-0ubuntu11
evolution 3.8.4-0ubuntu1
evolution-ews 3.8.4-0ubuntu1

However, I'm using two displays, and when clicking the mail account in the indicator menu, Evolution is moved to the primary display, but still on the same workspace (not my current workspace).
