[fglrx] ASIC hang happened

Bug Description

Using daily 12.10 (soon after beta 2), X and console froze randomly this morning. I could not switch from X to any of the virtual consoles which was unusual for an display-related problem. I managed to connect via ssh and found compiz and X stuck at 100% CPU. Syslog indicated that GPU had frozen. I'm using fglrx 2.9.000-0ubuntu3 with Radeon HD 5450.

Syslog contained a section that describes the crash:

Same issue, stock 12.10 Quantal with fglrx_updates, stock kernel, I've been trying to overvolt various components past stock to see if this bug is hardware related, but no luck, heres a log:

Same issue on 14.04. Only happens with Kerbal Space Program but they seem to think this is a driver issue.
