tsetso, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Regarding your Bug Description:
<"If i install fglrx 9.00 i end up on black screen with kernel panic."

When precisely do you end up on a black screen with a kernel panic, during the install of fglrx? While initially booting up? After logging in?

If this is a kernel panic, could you please capture it following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies#Capturing_OOPs ?

As well, we have an xorg backtrace in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1063283/+attachment/3382703/+files/XorgLogOld.txt .

Changed in fglrx-installer (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
summary: - fglrx 9.00 crashes with hybrid GPU with kernel panic

While booting.
The system locks completely so i had to remove 12.10 and install 12.04 so i can't reproduce it right now.
I've read on the net that it was a speciffic bug with fglrx and hybrid GPUs (intel/amd) with xorg 1.13 and kernel > 3.2
I belive the Xorg.0.log backtrace is the only info about the segmentation fault that i can provide. I'm sorry.

I have the same segfault as in XorgLogOld.txt from reporter.
I have hybrid graphics on my laptop.
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Thames XT/GL [Radeon HD 7600M Series]

It isn't kernel panic, kernel loaded fine, but xorg didn't.
I've added my xorg log.
Also I've found bug report fron openSuSE that looks like this case.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780672
I haven't found xf86-video-intel of lower version for quantal

I can confirm this and have added the bug report to amd and intel devs.
The segfault happens when installing >= (bigger or equal to)
xf86-video-intel-2.20.3 drivers.
