Absolutely. It's been happening many times a day as recent as
yesterday.

Nope. I'm afraid I can't provoke it into happening. I just have to sit
waiting (and using FF3) with gdb to catch it.

I had already posted it upstream a few days ago. The bug number is
460916 although it's seen no love upstream yet.
