Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.5
I know this is a bug because I did not experience the problem in 8.10 or 9.04. Only when I upgraded to 9.10 do I get this problem.
The problem is that Firefox 3.5 in 9.10 seems to respond poorly overall. Once or twice a second there are noticable "lags" during which keyboard input may be ignored. This happens most often if I am typing in the address bar, although it also happens in my google search bar or other text entry fields.
This problem does seem unique to Firefox. Other applications do not experience it.
This is a frustrating problem because I am a fast typist and when I frequently open a new tab (Ctrl-T), jump to the address bar (Ctrl-D), then type a URL. Almost every time one or more characters will be missed. I can verify this is happening by simply holding the "a" key in the address bar. There are brief freezes as the "a"'s are printed, and some are lost.
This is one of those "1000 papercut" type issues, but it simply should not happen in 2009 with the latest software. Software should feel responsive. Let me know if you need any more information.

As I mentioned in the header, this problem also causes non-smooth scrolling.
Another symptom is that new tabs have a noticable delay before opening. Also, I don't know if it's related, but several days ago my computer hard locked while watching an embedded flash video. All this performance degradation almost makes me want to use a different web browser.
