scrolling on Photos tab not smooth on desktop

Bug Description
Run the gallery-app on the desktop with DESKTOP_MODE=1 set.
Populate ~/Pictures with a bunch of photos so you have multiple pages worth.
Now scroll up and down on touchpad with two-finger swipe. The header keeps appearing at odd times and the scrolling is very jerky. It should be smooth like the Events view now is.

arthur investigated this and found it's a SDK header issue when displaying a GridView. The same problem doesn't occur when using a list view.
@arthur - is there a corresponding ui-toolkit bug that you filed?
