Hello Matthias, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gccgo-4.7 into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gccgo-4.7/4.7.2-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please change the bug tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

Hi,

it seemes the latest .deb package breaks itself , as it classes itself as a dependancy conflict ( at least under the synaptic package manager.).

Selecting it makes it a broken package.

deb install seems tobe OK now.

I'm a new user of Go, so cant comment on further errors.

But many thanks for correcting the install dependancy issue.

Downloaded it to try help Haunts project ( if I can learn the system quick enogh).

Again, thanks for sortin the dependancy issue.

This bug was fixed in the package gccgo-4.7 - 4.7.2-0ubuntu3

---------------
gccgo-4.7 (4.7.2-0ubuntu3) precise-proposed; urgency=low

  * GCC 4.7.2 release (plus updates from the 4.7 branch 20121114).
  * Release 4.7.1 includes complete support for Go 1. The Go library is from the
    Go 1.0.3 release. LP: #1054508.
  * Fix build failure with pkgbinarymangler being more pedantic than dpkg.
