Bug Description

Binary package hint: gksu

Hello, I have Ubuntu 8.04 with gksu 2.0.0-5ubuntu2.

When invoking gksu, the screen dims and a dialog asking for the password shows. After entering the correct password, the dialog disappears and the screen returns to normal brightness, but then the password dialog shows again for a second and disappears. Note that this may happen because of a slow computer - 866Mhz here.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I can confirm this still happens in Ubuntu 9.04. After you enter the password, the password box very quickly flashes up and disappears again.
