The screen goes dim

The screen goes dim after 30 seconds of inactivity even after I've unchecked a switch in the Settings > Power > Power saving options > Dim screen.
Basically, the system doesn't care about this switch and it's really annoying while I'm trying to read the article or something.
Fix it please, I would really appreciate this.
