Bug Description

I installed Quantal Alpha 2 as a virtual machine in VirtualBox, and restarted the machine after first updating (it was partial upgrade).
And then suddenly the crash occurred as soon as the desktop finished loading.
I did not do any operations like moving pointing device or hitting keyboard.

Same issue here, with Trusty nightly under Virtualbox 4.3.8 (with guest additions)

I have the final released Trusty and am getting this error in VirtualBox too. I install the VirtualBox tools that usually make the video much faster, restart the VM, and then upon starting, the above described error is thrown and the video continues to be extremely slow - window fade outs, etc. I have told the crash reporter to send the crash information, so somewhere out there is my crash information, but it looks very similar to what is posted here. I'd like this to be higher than medium priority since ubuntu is quite unusable in a VM with this crashing and slowing the graphical interface down to a crawl.
