Can you take a look into your «Pictures» folder? It could be a non-fatal error becasue it dumps screenshots there silently now.

Tobias -
you are correct,
I've quite a number there so didn't notice, will mark invalid

Changed in gnome-screenshot (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Well, it’s debatable if the new behaviour makes sense. I don’t like it personally, in particular because I keep camera photos in my Pictures folder and would prefer screenshots on the desktop or in $HOME.

Luckily there’s a Gsettings key for that, but who discovers that?

Whether it makes sense not sure though it's likely many users will initially thrown off till they notice the shots are being saved.
Myself don't like, prefer to be able to review the shot before saving
Took a look in gsettings (org.gnome.gnome-screenshot) didn't see a key for this, & explored elsewhere, not evident
