[oneiric] gnome-settings-daemon not working properly

gnome-settings-daemon reports via .xsession-errors (name differs)

also unity-panel-service does not start properly and .xsession-errors logs a lot of
unity-panel-service: no process found

The menu of running applications jump from application to panel multiple times per second and dbus-daemon produces around 30% cpu load.

I fixed the problem temporarily for the session by killall -9 gnome-settings-daemon
