Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-mount
If I freshly insert a USB pendrive then without doing anything, ask for it to be unmount (via any of the GUI methods), I do not get a notification from libnotify that it is safe to remove the pendrive.
However, if I insert it, copy some files, then unmount, I get very nice "data writing in progress", then "safe to remove" popups.
If it was by design to suppress the safe-to-remove notification when there is no data written then please reconsider -- the user should receive notification when it's safe to remove a pendrive, no matter how soon that may be :)

Interestingly enough, using gnome-mount and gnome-volume- manager under Xfce results in the notifications always being displayed - which I presume is intended (and indeed seems sensible).
