Bug Description

My and all RTL language users problem is that there us no option to change text direction in a text-box! for example in windows when i press left CTRL+SHIFT text direction sets to LTR and when press right CTRL+SHIFT direction changes to RTL. It is a really big problem for us and its a essential feature. Also automatic direction detection base on language direction is not good solution at all.

Can you please attach screenshots?

I don't think this is the right package since syslinux has no GUI.

I still don't understand, did you write something in your browser?

Yes. In browser and any text-box(any text editor, user input etc). with this feature we can easily edit multi language texts with different direction.

I wonder why nobody cares about this big problem *WE NEEDS THIS ESSENTIAL FEATURE FOR EDITING TEXTS WHEN USING TWO LANGUAGE WITH DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, FOR EXAMPLE RTL DESCRIPTION AND SOURCE CODE.

Hi Reza, As I previously mentioned, this is not related to syslinux, I can try and help you find the source but the current classification is incorrect and thus nobody will handle it.

Thank you @yaron, but i didn't know exactly what to do. As you can see, It's not only my problem. What i should do to Ubuntu add this feature?

Contacting Ubuntu in that case won't do any good, try and invite some more Persian and Arabic speaking members to this bug report and see how we can tackle this, it's far bigger that the scope you initially aimed to.
We might need to go to the source (gtk+ I guess) and try adding this feature.

I Wrote about it in the past (...2011!).

Nobody really cared back than.
So, as I wrote in the blog above, I think this issue can be solved as an input method plugin (or a patch to Gnome) which will let you control the invisible characters in the beginning of each paragraph using special hot keys. This is not too hard to do but I think that Gnome people do not acknowledge it as an issue that should be solved and will not accept a patch for it.
Want to solve it? This is what you should do:
1. Open a bug in GTK.
2. Convince them it should be fixed. (That's the hard part)
3. Propose a solution and/or patch.

Hi Reza,
Issues regarding GTK should be reported in the upstream issue tracker. Which seems to be:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/issues
Maybe you should first have a chat with Behdad Esfahbod regarding this issue.
Good luck!
