Bug Description

Binary package hint: hplip

This bug seems a duplicate of bug #355554 but I am opening a new one for karmic data to be included.

I am using HP deskjet 970cxi to do a 2 sided printing of a pdf file from okular. This was working well with karmic but begin to crash for a few weeks now. I also attach the portion of cups error log that shows the following assertion :

D [07/Jan/2010:10:09:56 +0100] [Job 53] hpijs: malloc.c:3074: sYSMALLOc: Assertion `(old_top == (((mbinptr) (((char *) &((av)->bins[((1) - 1) * 2])) - __builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd)))) && old_size == 0) || ((unsigned long) (old_size) >= (unsigned long)((((__builtin_offsetof (struct malloc_chunk, fd_nextsize))+((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1)) & ~((2 * (sizeof(size_t))) - 1))) && ((old_top)->size & 0x1) && ((unsigned long)old_end & pagemask) == 0)' failed.

Please also note that the pdf document has a landscape orientation but is printed in portrait. I'am opening a separate but report for that against okular.

This is not a duplicate of bug #355554, forwarding upstream to the developers at HP.

Official support for Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" has ended. Is this still happening on Ubuntu 12.04 "Prescise Pangolin"?
