Bug Description

When I first installed Lubuntu 16.10, I was unable to use the proprietary nvidia-304 graphics driver, as it had a bug and would install, but not load into the kernel.
When I tried to use hugin using the default linux nouveau graphics driver, Hugin loaded fine, but when I tried to open files to make a panorama, there was a pause, and then I would get a screen-crash, and would have to do a hard-shutdown. (I had had no problem with Hugin under 16.04 with nvidia-304)
I tried to help debug nouveau by booting from a Live-USB, and only installing hugin (which naturally also loaded in lots of other packages). Nouveau didn't crash, but the upper (sky?) portion of the right-most image was garbage, and not the image. Hugin was able to make the panorama, which looked fine - so the garbage seen on the screen was only on the screen and not image data.

Finally today I was able to download a fixed nvidia-304 package, and it loads into the kernal just fine.

Now I should be able to use hugin, right ?

No.

Now Hugin briefly shows the splash window, but does not start up.

From the terminal, I get:

"scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ hugin

The program 'hugin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 541 error_code 2 request_code 154 minor_code 24)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

At first, I thought it was the higher resolution I had selected. Under nouveau, I had been using 1600x1200, but when I was able to use nvidia-304, I had selected 1792x1344, but when I set it back to 1600x1200, it made no difference; hugin still crashed.
