Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

My default browser is Google Chrome but Inkscape still opened a help manual online in Firefox, the window saying "Inkscape Manual Working..." still stayed up and after I tried to exit it, it crashed the program.

Thanks Nathan. As I see it, there are two issues here:

1) Firefox opening, rather than Chrome:
I believe that there is a bug in Chrome that prevents it from correctly registering itself as the preferred browser. Please could you try going to the "Preferred Applications" option in your System Settings? Is Chrome selected as your preferred browser? If not, please select it, and try launching the Inkscape manual again. Does it now open in Chrome?

2) The "Inkscape Manual Working..." dialog never disappears.
Yes, I can confirm this. It has, in fact, already been reported as bug #781397.

I will mark this report as a duplicate of bug #781397. The first issue can't really be dealt with here, because Chrome is a third-party package and it isn't maintained by the Ubuntu project. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I searched for any duplicates of my problem but unfortunately couldn't find them. I'll contact Google about the Chrome issue.
