Bug Description

We're looking at moving to GNOME Software + PackageKit in Ubuntu. This means dropping support for aptdaemon. This means language-selector needs to work with PackageKit.

@Robert: Just talked with Martin, and he isn't able to promise that he would find the time to fix this. Do you have somebody else in mind?
(I usually do some basic maintenance of l-s, but this would be far above my head.)

No, we don't have anyone specific for this. We're also investigating alternatives so we can possibly keep aptdaemon running.

We've decided to keep aptdaemon running so this is no longer required.
