Bug Description

When I try to open a libreoffice document on a AFS directory that I have full write permissions to and that is not over quota, I always get this pop-up:

Document Could Not Be Locked

The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space.

The lock file is created, but it has the size 0:
% ls -tla|head -n 5

I have just tested with the upstream packages of LibreOffice 6.4.0, the problem doesn't occur there, it creates the lock file on AFS with the right content (name, user name, etc.)

Hi, quick question, your system info states "Package: libreoffice (not installed)", was this issue experienced with the 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.10 package from archive, or with the LibreOffice snap?

I have reported this for 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.10, I don't know why this wasn't picked up by ubuntu-bug.

I have tested more of the upstream builds, not even upstream 6.0.7.3 has this bug.

Could you please provide a screenshot of the About box for the LibreOffice version exhibiting the error.

I think the missing version in the original report was because I ran ubuntu-bug libreoffice instead of ubuntu-bug libreoffice-calc
