Bug Description

Most of the time, everything works fine, but every 5 or 10 suspends or so I can't resume. Normally the laptop resumes on any keypress. On these occasions, no keypresses, Ctrl-Alt-Dels, or power button presses have any effect. The power button continues to blink slowly indicating suspended state, and the indicator for plugged in status continues to respond. Other than that only the long power button press to force power-off does anything.

On the plus side, this has been going on for a while but I have yet to have a dirty filesystem afterwards.

I'm also pretty sure this was happening with the 3.19 kernel as well, but will set that as the default for the next few boots to try to confirm.

I'm prepared to be told this is a hardware issue, but as the laptop works great with Ubuntu 14.04 aside from this one issue for about a year now, I'd love to know how to find out more about it at the very least. (16.04 is a different story altogether, but nothing susres-related, yet...)

Lastly, I wasn't sure about the right way to report this. apport notices it on the next boot, and uploads a "crash report," but it doesn't go to launchpad by default. I know I can change this, but am I supposed to? The .crash file itself is attached. However, on casual/untrained inspection, it doesn't appear to be terribly useful? Despite calling itself a KernelOops, there doesn't seem to be anything from the kernel, there or in kern.log.
