Bug Description
The winmodems are difficult to install on Linux. Can be added in Ubuntu?
The winmodems were never autodetected by any Linux distro. It can be useful to add an autodetection and installation (automatic OR easier) to Ubuntu because a lot of people (like me!) have troubles (installing packages -- apt-get or Synpatic -- is impossible) and are blocked by that. There's a lot of questions about that in the forums and it's rare that someone have an answer.
Not very a 'bug' in itself, but it do a lot of bugs (time definition to the ntp server).

I was luckiy to have a copy of Hoary so that I could go and download the ltmodem driver for Breezy. All known winmodem drivers should be on the CD!
