Bug Description

My computer locks up after upgrading to 14.04

I have an intel processor with 1 GB memory stick

I have a 100 GB hard drive. and runninr firefox web browser.

is there anyway of removing the encryption of the home drive.

I deleted the hard drive and reinstalled it without encription and it seems to have done the trick.

It locks up for short times now while the the java script runs on Facebook but not but and after about 45 seconds to a minute

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.16 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Still locks up while opening programs and opening software center and changing sections in the software center.

The screen goes cloudy for a couple of minutes

The data transfer light on the hard drive stays on for a while then starts to flash and when the light goes out the the screen clears and loads
