Bug Description

ICEnsemble VT1616i Chaintech AV-710 and VIA 8237 Analog Devices AD1888

I really dont know exactly what is going on here, but I can say this problem does not happen in higher and lower version's of alsa I have used with slackware.

basicly mic input is spotty on the VIA, and output via digital is either corrupted or only the left channel. chaintech half the time wont output to digital. mic input cuts on and off.

for use with voip and basic multimedia it is a real pain. I can't tell you WHY this wierdness is happening but I can say that I've used allmost every version of alsa with slackware for the past few years, and a couple releases had simaler problems with mixer settings (using alsamixer from console allways here)

Its really just bad luck that this version 1.0.10 is being used in dapper.

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'alsa'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

I appreciate your reply, but its been a long time since I've used that
card, I know alsa people have smoothed many edges around this chipset.

No replies indicating that this is still a problem. If the issue appears again with the current Jaunty release, please file a new bug.
