Bug Description

LyX version: 2.3.2 , OS: Ubuntu 16.04.5 64-bit

(I use LyX PPA found here: https://launchpad.net/~lyx-devel/+archive/ubuntu/release )

Problem: In "Preferences > Look & Feel > Document handling" I checked "Restore cursor positions".

LyX only saved cursor position once. very next time when I open files (I keep several files open in the same session), cursor position never changes, it's restored to the value where it was first saved.

That means that corresponding strings in

~/.lyx/session

are never updated (I checked that) once written.

Hello Konstantin,

I see that I never followed up on this bug. Does it still affect you?

@imarc Yes, the bug persists and is still a nuisance (LyX 2.3.6.1, Ubuntu 20.04, latest updates)

Do you have more than 100 files remembered in session file? We supposedly have fixed this in 2.3.4, if this is the bug I have in mind.

Are other parameters of session (e.g. window size), correctly remembered?

@jmarc No, I have less than 100 files, but some of files are big; as far as I know, positions are not restored for "sufficiently big" files, say more than 1000 lines (paragraphs) of text.

If that matters, I can send the session file.

Windows sizes and file tabs sequence are restored correctly, AFAIS.
