You need to create a personal Youtube API key as described on https://github.com/flaviotordini/minitube

Then launch Minitube from a terminal like this:

$ GOOGLE_API_KEY=abcd minitube

No, this is not user friendly at all.

Oh, thanks, looks like it's ok to work with. Now the main problem is that it wasn't obvious, but maybe it was fixed in error messages, I didn't try it since reporting.
