Bug Description

Get the same issue on both Raring & Saucy i386 installations:

- first i've discovered the issue using wine1.5/1.6 where i need some wingdings symbols, but get only rectangles
- outside of wine, the same issue also exist inside ubuntu installation : /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts : webdings.ttf is displaying only rectangles instead of the symbols when clicking on it for viewing.
- installing ttf-liberation (fake package) does not solve that issue.

So that mscorefonts installer seems buggy. Of course, ubuntu-restricted-extras is installed.

Workaround: Try to change the font encoding with Fontforge... For me, with some fonts, like marvosym, this works.
Font Forge > Open Font > Encoding > Set Encoding > Windows ANSI or ISO-8859-1.
Later, you can go File > Generate Fonts and overwrite it.

Isaque Alves (isaquealves) is correct!
Totally did the trick for Wingdings on Ubuntu 14.04.
Everything works now as it should (even though fontforge reported errors).
Thank you so so much Isaque!
