Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv

Every time I switch channels in live tv, the audio volume is reset to some internal setting. The volume should stay where I have manually set it. In addition, when manipulating the volume with an IR remote, I get the generic libnotify volume on-screen-display in addition to the mythtv theme provided volume on-screen-display

I'm using an up2date 9.10 mythbuntu on 32 bit hardware with an Nvidia card.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by opening this ticket. This ticket is being marked as incomplete because the developers/maintainers will likely need more information to be able to properly debug this issue:

1. please describe your video capture device configuration and attach /var/log/dmesg
2. please describe which window manager you are using (xfce, gnome, or kde)?
3. try changing the volume with the keyboard short-cut rather than a remote and see how that affects your issue

Regarding #3:
[ or F10 = decrease volume
] or F11 = increase volume

Thanks!

Changed in mythtv (Ubuntu):

The portions of this report referring to the xfce OSD showing up are actually caused by bug 520840.

As for the volume resetting, you have to set your default settings in mythfrontend general settings for the defaults for next time.
