Bug Description

When the wireless applet is disconnected from a wireless router that is password-protected (WPA-2), the wireless authentication window opens. After approximitely 5 mins, another one opens on top of the first. This continues, and as the windows take about two minutes to become responsive, they stack up quickly when you are away for a period of time.

I was having the same issue on an external wireless adapter. It would try to connect to local APs that I had previously connected to or tried to connect to. The below solution (deleting the SSID from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections) fixed my problem.

I have the exact same problem, but with 802.1x authentication. I've included a part of a screenshot as illustration. Only viable solution is to log out and back in..
