Hi total wormage. Do you have any more detail about this bug? Does it *always* occur when booting nicotine? Does it occur immediately? Or after some time? etc...

it does always occur, sadly enough

when i try to boot nicotine, it loads a blank window with the titel 'nicotine + 1.2.6' which 'quits unexpectedly', the close button doesn't work, after a few seconds a window pops up in which i can chose to wait or force quit nicotine :]

i hope that's enough info :]

by the way, nicotine has been working under feisty, i'll try to boot it in an older kernel right now, see if that helps a bit :]

So, under which release does nicotine not work? Edgy?

I'm a bit confused. You said "nicotine has been working under feisty". Was it working before and now has stopped working?

I had the same issue after downloading a lot(lot!) of songs one night. Deleting all the *.db files in my ~/.nicotine/ dir did the trick. Just remember to always back stuff up just in case! And of course this doesn't solve the main problem at hand but it's just a quick fix.

Cheers JustAnother, you're a life saver! Confirming JustAnother's quick fix on Gutsy. I had also done a lot of downloading (10-15 albums) the night before. I copied the .db files to another folder before deleting them, just in case. But it wasn't necessary, my configurations, buddies, previous downloads, etc. had all been retained. I guess that everyone, that's having this problem, will just have to continue deleting their .db files until a fix is found by Nicotine or by someone else. Though I personally don't mind paying that small price for free music. Cheers again JustAnother ;D
